Brainerd Golf Course is one of Chattanooga's oldest public golf courses, opening in 1926 on a Donald Ross design. The 18-hole, par-72 layout stretches 6,468 yards from the blue tees, with a course rating of 69.8 and slope of 119. The course is operated by the City of Chattanooga as part of its public parks and recreation system.
The layout plays across rolling terrain with mature trees that give it a classic parkland character. The front nine measures 3,323 yards and the back nine 3,147 yards, with the longest hole reaching 505 yards and the shortest at 165 yards. Blue, White, Gold, and Red tees allow golfers of all skill levels to enjoy the course.
As a City of Chattanooga municipal course, Brainerd offers some of the most affordable public golf in the region. Juniors play weekdays for $5, seniors receive a discounted rate, and city residents get an additional $2 off 18-hole green fees. The course is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to sunset with tee times bookable up to five days in advance.
