Egwani Farms Golf Course was built in 1991 on former farmland, creating a unique golfing experience that honors its agricultural heritage. The name "Egwani" means "little river" in Native American culture, reflecting the natural beauty of the Little River that runs alongside the course and is visible from at least seven holes.
In 2016, celebrating the course's 25th anniversary, Egwani Farms underwent extensive renovations to enhance the playing experience while maintaining its rustic charm. These improvements included new cart paths, championship Bermuda greens, Billy-style bunkers, GPS-equipped carts, and 15 acres of new natural fescue grass that adds both beauty and strategic challenge to the layout.
The preserved original farmhouse serves as the clubhouse, strategically positioned to overlook the 18th green, while the original silo from over 50 years ago still stands as a testament to the property's agricultural roots. This combination of history and modern golf amenities creates a truly unique atmosphere.
Long regarded as one of the most enjoyable greater Knoxville golf courses, Egwani Farms offers "an ideal blend of challenge, playability, nuance and strategy." The course's tagline, "Make the Farm Your Home for Golf," reflects the welcoming atmosphere and commitment to providing an exceptional golfing experience for players of all skill levels.
