Franklin Bridge Golf Club is a public 18-hole championship course set along the banks of the Harpeth River in Franklin, Tennessee. Originally opened in 1970 as Forrest Crossing Golf Course, the layout was designed by Gary Roger Baird, ASGCA, and stretches to 6,968 yards from the tips with a slope rating of 135. The course underwent a name change to The Crossing in September 2022 before being rebranded as Franklin Bridge Golf Club under new ownership — though the layout and challenge remain as formidable as ever.
The Harpeth River is the defining feature of the course, weaving alongside nine of the eighteen holes and creating constant strategic demands from tee to green. Water comes into play throughout the round, rewarding precise ball-striking and punishing errant approaches. The signature moment arrives at the par-4 ninth hole, where an island green demands a bold, accurate approach shot — one of the most talked-about holes in Middle Tennessee golf.
Located just minutes from downtown Franklin in one of Tennessee's fastest-growing counties, Franklin Bridge Golf Club offers a rare blend of challenging championship golf and natural scenery within easy reach of the Nashville metro. Holes 16 and 18 have earned particular recognition for their difficulty and finishing drama, making Franklin Bridge a course that demands respect from the first tee to the final putt.
