The Links at Audubon represents a remarkable transformation of Memphis municipal golf, reopening on August 1, 2024, after an extensive $8.1 million renovation designed by renowned golf course architect Bill Bergin. Located within the 373-acre Audubon Park in East Memphis, this completely reimagined championship course has been described as a "game changer for the Memphis golf community."

Originally opened in the early 1950s during the post-World War II boom of municipal golf, The Links at Audubon served Memphis residents for over 70 years. Bill Bergin's innovative approach essentially created an entirely new golf course over the existing property, featuring a completely new 18-hole routing that makes more efficient use of the available land while adding exciting new elements.

The new course design showcases Bergin's philosophy of creating inclusive golf landscapes accessible to players of all experience levels. Measuring 6,985 yards from the championship tees with a course rating of 73.4 and slope rating of 125, the layout features deep bunkers, generous fairways, and undulating greens that provide both challenge and enjoyment for golfers of varying skill levels.

Beyond the main 18-hole championship course, the renovation includes a 6-hole "Little Course at Cherry Road" designed specifically for beginners and families, plus a brand new driving range that serves both public golfers and the University of Memphis golf team. This 10-acre practice facility was created by converting previously unused space on the west side of the property.

The course reopened to record-setting play, demonstrating the community's enthusiasm for this world-class municipal golf facility. With qualified golf professionals on staff and rental carts available for both 9 and 18-hole rounds, The Links at Audubon continues the proud tradition of providing accessible, high-quality golf to Memphis residents and visitors.
